Police seize €30,000-worth of oysters in Olhão

Over seven-and-a-half tons of oysters, said to have a market value of around €30,000, were confiscated by GNR police this week in Olhão.

Two men have been named ‘arguidos’ (official suspects) after they were caught trying to transport the molluscs out of Portugal without the appropriate documents.

The oysters were still alive and were returned to the wild.
