The 11 kilos of drugs seized yesterday in a police operation to combat drug trafficking in Porto could yield, if they reached consumers, a million euros, said public security police commissioner Sousa Pereira today. Speaking to journalists about the operation, which he described as “very successful”, the commissioner said that of the 11 kilos of drugs, six were cocaine, three hashish and two heroin – enough for about 62,000 individual doses. As well as the drugs, €13,000 in cash, four cars, two mopeds and sundry weapons were seized, he added, saying this was the dismantlement of one of the city’s main drug trafficking networks.
