2015’s GNR operation “Natal Tranquilo” registered seven deaths in road traffic accidents over Christmas – two less than the number registered last year. The ‘good news’ was also reflected in the number of accidents: at 589, 29 less than the 2014 tally. But serious injuries were up (at 19, six more than last year), as were light injuries (+21). “Natal Tranquilo” ran from Christmas Eve to midnight last Sunday.
