Police request meeting with Prime Minister

The coordinating committee of the syndicates of Portugal’s police forces, bringing together the PSP, GNR, SEF, Prison Guards, Maritime Police and ASAE (health and food safety) have asked for a meeting with prime minister António Costa, and are “admitting advancing with protests in September”, writes Correio da Manhã today. César Nogueira, the commitee spokesperson, has stressed there are more pressing matters than “parties and the delivery of medals”, citing the (long-awaited) upgrading of salaries.
