Two men, one of them a Portimão PSP police officer, were arrested by GNR police after allegedly stealing from a store at Loulé’s Mar Shopping Algarve on Saturday (September 26).
The news was confirmed in a communiqué to the press by Faro’s PSP police district command, which said that a “disciplinary inquiry” would be launched.
The PSP statement added that the “alleged actions of one officer do not reflect the integrity and professionalism” of the police force who perform their duties “admirably”.
It also said that any officer whose “behaviour does not match their noble mission” will be held accountable.
