PJ criminal police are investigating the death of a 66-year-old Italian woman. Her body was found inside her home in Olhão on Saturday (January 2).
An 83-year-old Italian man was also found inside, “disorientated”, reported Correio da Manhã.
TVI24 reported that the man was taken to Faro Hospital to be treated for minor injuries and that he had already been questioned by authorities.
An investigation is now underway to determine the woman’s cause of death.
TVI24 reports that the victim’s body showed “signs of aggression”, however, an official suspect has yet to be named.
Authorities were alerted by the victim’s family members in Italy who had become worried that they had not been able to contact her for days, according to reports.
Reports add that firefighters had to force the door open to get into the apartment.
