PJ police are hunting the shotgun killer of a Chaves man who was killed as he left his home early on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, authorities are working on the theory that this was a “crime of passion”, given that Carlos Outeiro was “recently divorced” and may have been conducting an affair with a married woman.
There were no witnesses to the shooting, which took place at around 7am.
Outeiro, a father-of-one and well-known figure locally, was shot once, in the head, and left lying in the road.
With a manhunt now underway for his killer, Outeiro’s body has been taken to Chaves hospital for autopsy.
