Police hunt gang after late-night attack in Faro

PSP police are hunting a five-strong gang that robbed two young men in Faro in the early hours of Saturday morning (October 24).

The attack took place when the two friends, both aged 18, left Santa Iria fair and were approaching the isolated area of Cais da Porta Nova, reports Correio da Manhã.

Five men, aged between 20 and 30, approached the youngsters and “threatened them physically”. The upshot of the incident was that the victims handed over their money and a mobile phone said to be worth €500.

Their assailants then made off on foot.

PSP police are now investigating.
