The latest confirmations from Cascais police, regarding the attack on the beach over the holiday weekend, are that 10 individuals have been identified and arrested. The robbers fled from the beach and carried on to local shops where they stole and caused mayhem. They even targeted the Pingo Doce supermarket. From there, they carried on to assault a number of taxi drivers, taking what they could. The police have identification on a number of other suspects and have said that they believe the event was not planned, as it followed the same pattern as attacks in Brazil, where a few start and others follow.
