Due to a “lack of investment”, PSP police in Faro and Porto are using recycled bulletproof glass to create makeshift shields.
The shields have been made for training purposes but may end up being used in real-life situations, says Correio da Manhã.
Police union (ASPAA) says nonetheless that it does not believe the shields compromise agents’ safety.
