Police enter Armação de Pêra home to find drug addict dead and his elderly mother under bed

A 40-year-old Portuguese man said to have a history of drug problems was found dead by PSP police in a house in Armação de Pêra yesterday (August 21). His elderly mother was found uninjured under the bed when police arrived at the scene. The man’s cause of death has not been disclosed.
Lusa news agency reports that the PSP was called to the scene at around midnight by neighbours who said they had not seen one of their elderly neighbours for many days.
When the police entered the residence, they found the man lying dead in the bed.
His mother, the owner of the house who is believed to suffer from mental problems, was found under the bed. Why she was there is still unknown.
Investigations are still ongoing by the PSP police, but if there are suspicions that the death is tied to any kind of criminal activity, the case will be handed over to the PJ criminal police, reports Lusa.
