A two-tonne shipment of hashish was seized by PJ police in Tavira in the early hours of Wednesday morning (February 24).
The drugs were shipped in on a boat by three men and left inside a parked truck on the banks of the Gilão River.
The plan was likely to smuggle the drugs into Spain, said the PJ. The boat crew and two others linked to the same drug dealing network were arrested.
