Three people have been injured in Porto following a ‘police chase’ that began after the car they were in ran a red light.
PSP Porto has confirmed the accident, which took place in Praça da República, justifying their agents’ pursuit on ‘suspicions that the car had been stolen’.
Says Jornal de Notícias, “there is no complaint” to this effect.
Said an eye-witness: “The car went through a red light and the police went after it. The car then turned round” and went back where it had come from, effectively going the wrong way down a one-way street.
The chase ended with the car crashing into a lampost and all three occupants being injured.
