A young man suspected of multiple crimes of robbery in the Olhão municipality was arrested last Friday by the PSP police force.
The PSP district command revealed that the arrest took place in Olhão and was the result of an investigation conducted by several branches from the Olhão police station which identified the suspect, aged 23, and were able to obtain an arrest warrant.
The suspect, who already has a criminal record for robbery, is believed to be responsible for the majority of offences registered in the municipality during the last month.
The authorities also stated that, in the past, he had been ordered to report to the police station every two weeks but failed to abide by the order. He is now on pre-trial detention.
