LOULÉ GNR, following a series of raids at private addresses in Loulé, seized gold jewellery valued at around 3,000 euros, electrical equipment, 1,000 euros in cash presumed to be from the sale of stolen goods, and various false 100, 50 and 20 euro banknotes.
The operation was carried out as part of a programme to combat criminality in the area, with particular focus on the handling of stolen goods. During the operation, two Romanians, aged 20 and 24, were detained and found to be living illegally in Portugal. Both are suspected of handling stolen goods. The men have appeared at Loulé Court and are required to report to the police station on a weekly basis pending the trial.
