SC Farense has been deducted two points for fielding an ineligible player in their game against Benfica ‘B’ in March. Harramiz, on-loan at Farense from Benfica, was the guilty party. Whilst there was obviously a failure in the Faro club’s administrative structure, President António Barão has stated that he will not resign even if the club is relegated. To avoid the drop, Farense must win at Gil Vicente on Saturday and hope that other results go in their favour. Farense would have already been relegated but for a 91st minute winning free-kick by Celsinho to beat CD Aves 2-1 last weekend.
