After weeks in which the government attempted to say inflation was ‘cyclical’ and nothing (really) to worry about, prime minister António Costa has finally accepted today that he is concerned. Nonetheless, the PM welcomed the good economic news from Brussles earlier today, stressing: “We have to continue to work to control inflation, which is the great threat that we have ahead of us, to value employment and incentivise this dynamic of growth”.
