Prime minister António Costa will be making another speech to the country later today following this afternoon’s Council of Ministers which will discuss the latest presidential decree, approved yesterday, for Portugal’s 12th State of Emergency. With the moratorium on mortgage payments running out on March 31, and no end to lockdown in sight before Easter, it is possible he will use the occasion to announce new measures of support for families and businesses. Update: this didn’t happen. Instead the PM said the country’s roadmap out of lockdown would be revealed on March 11.
