Portugal’s prime minister says the position of the CGTP-IN trade union “against any compromise in the field of dialogue towards collective labour agreements” is one of his “greatest political frustrations”. Taking part in a conference promoted by CNN Portugal at Culturgest, in Lisbon, today, António Costa suggested the trade union’s actions have “brutally unbalanced” labour relations. He explained that in his opinion Portugal has to “increasingly converge towards European standards” when it comes to social dialogue and collective bargaining. Right now, “we effectively have a culture that does not favour this effort”, he admitted.
