PM accused of “not wanting to resolve” Madeira’s judicial stalemate

Court workers in Madeira have been protesting today, saying they have “reached the point of rupture”. Much like counterparts on the mainland, salary scales and conditions are at the centre of this issue, which protestors say has been dragging on, one way or another, since 1994. Complaints suggest prime minister António Costa “has no sensitivity to resolve” this conflict that is delaying thousands of court cases across the country. The protests are scheduled to continue for the next two weeks.
