Plum job for ‘vaccine shamed’ councillor

Carlos Castro, a former Lisbon city councillor who resigned after being caught out in the early days of ‘Covid vaccine queue jumping’ has been hired, without recourse to public competition (‘ajusto direto) by the councillors’ office of the Socialist Party. His two year contract, at a monthly salary of €3,921, has been published on the BASE online portal. Quizzed by reporters, Mr Castro has said: “I have no comments to make”.
