ONE VISITOR gone and two pending events has resulted in our house having a higher standard of cleanliness than usual. The undisturbed corners and muddle so loved by geckos and silverfish has gone, and the dust is safely battened down inside a couple of vacuum cleaners. With polish cloths waiting in the washing machine for a full load, tomorrow’s smalls will smell of beeswax rather than the perfume of cheap amaciador.
