HAVING STRONG musical backgrounds and years of experience, when Simon Perry and Mandy Davies saw a business opportunity in the Algarve, they joined forces and began The Sound Co.
Specialising in sound and lighting equipment, the pair hire a large range of equipment to all venues, including bars, restaurants and private homes for all occasions.
“We found that it was very difficult to hire public address equipment such as microphones and speakers as well as quiz and disco equipment such as lighting and sound systems in the Algarve, so we paired up to offer this service,” said Simon Perry. “We can supply complete sets of equipment or just one item on the night in an emergency.”
“I think what sets us apart is our background and experience in the entertainment equipment business,” said Simon Perry. “During the 70s, I was already touring Europe and working with electronics and sound systems with bands such as Hawkwind and the Sex Pistols”.
As well as offering a complete service by delivering, installing and uninstalling all of the equipment, The Sound Co also does a range of CD recordings including musical performances and demo CDs for clients.
Mandy also offers her services as a singer with a varied repertoire of music from the 50s until now including swing, jazz, pop and chart hits. With more than 10 years working as a professional singer, Mandy has sung at a number of events across Europe, the Caribbean and the Middle East at weddings, private parties, bars and restaurants.
For the future, The Sound Co is looking to expand their range of lighting equipment as well as renewing and updating the sound equipment so that it is more compact and easier to transport.
