PJ police on open-ended strike over ‘supplementary work’

PJ police inspectors have today begun a strike on ‘supplementary work’ – the work that takes place outside normal timetables, and which is paid at just €3.1 per hour (a value below the minimum wage). The strike essentially stops all work between the hours of 5.30pm to 9am the next day. The only inspectors working during these hours will be those assigned to them as part of their normal timetables. The strike involves other ‘demands’ that have remained unanswered for three years, explain reports.
