A Dutch couple have died of their injuries after falling from what has been described as a “touristic unit” near Lagos Marina.
Details so far are sketchy. According to police reports, the couple – described as a man and a woman, of 58 and 57, respectively – plunged around 20 metres to their deaths at around 12.15pm today.
“The circumstances in which the couple fell are not known,” a police source told Lusa news agency, thus PJ (Polícia Judiciária) detectives are now investigating.
According to rescue service INEM, the victims were assisted where they had fallen “but had both stopped breathing”. Death was declared on the spot.
