THE POLICIA Judiciária are investigating the mysterious disappearance of a Luso-Canadian couple and their two children from their home in Areias de Porches, near Lagoa.
It emerged today (Saturday) that Carla Gomes, an associate of Remax real estate agency in Albufeira, her husband Jonathan Heart and their two children CJ, aged nine, and Justin, aged six, were reported missing on Monday, December 1.
A GNR spokesman told The Resident: “We were contacted by a work colleague of the woman.”
He added: “The GNR visited the couple’s house on Thursday, December 4, in Areias de Porches and also another property they have in Aljezur, which they were trying to sell.”

The Resident attempted to contact Jonathan and found that the couple’s mobile telephones are switched off.
According to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã the only clue since their disappearance is two 200 euro withdrawals from a cash machine in Lagos.
The GNR spokesman told The Resident that no trace of the family’s whereabouts was found by their searches and the case has now been passed to the Polícia Judiciária.
The Resident contacted the Polícia Judiciária but no one was available for comment until after the bank holiday on Tuesday.
