Speaking at the opening of the new courthouse in Loulé, Minister of Justice, Celeste Cardona, mentioned the possibility of the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) headquarters, currently in Faro, being moved to Loulé. But the two local câmara presidents apparently disagree on the proposed move. “It’s a good idea, mainly because of the proposed location. It’s close to the helicopter base and close to the Via do Infante motorway,” claimed Loulé Câmara President, Seruca Emídio. However, Faro Câmara president, José Vitorino, does not believe the move will happen: “I’m not bothered about the situation,” he commented. “I just don’t think what the Minister of Justice said has any relevance.”
