Pipe organs of Faro to play again

Returning to Faro this month is The Organ Festival, with a series of concerts being held in two locations.

Dutch-Hungarian musician Gyula Szilágyi kicks-off the festival tomorrow (Saturday) at Faro Cathedral.

The three other performances will take place at Carmo Church.

On November 12, João Santos will play music using the keyboard and pedals of the organ and on November 19 chamber music will be the theme from Carina Lasch Lind, on the organ, and Pedro Santos, on the flute.

World-renowned specialist in early music and sound recording historical organs, José González Uriol, will bring the festival to a close on November 26.

All concerts begin at 9.30pm. The performance in the Cathedral costs €2 in aid of the building, and concerts in the Carmo Church are free of charge.
