A new branch of the Pingo Doce supermarket chain has opened in Quarteira.
The opening of the supermarket has created 70 new jobs and has been located in the area to serve Quarteira and neighbouring Vilamoura.
The store covers 940 square metres and includes a traditional butcher, fishmonger, fruit and vegetable section, an onsite bakery and a special take away area.
A spokesman for Pingo Doce said: “We hope that the opening of this new store will allow us to create greater customer satisfaction, especially during the summer time when there is a large influx of visitors to the area.”
The new Pingo Doce store is located at Sítio do Semino on the EN 396 and has parking facilities for 135 vehicles.
