Work has begun on a new tourist complex close to Albufeira and Vilamoura in the Algarve. The Pine Village Resort, developed by Quinta do Escarpão – Golfe e Animação, Actividades Turísticas will be built by Gabriel Couto and comprise 352 residences spread over an area of 50,000 m2.
The 352 homes, with 1,322 beds, are distributed between 83 three-bedroom villas, 28 studios, 98 one-bed and 143 two-bed apartments.
In the first phase of the project, some existing buildings will be demolished followed by the construction of all the necessary infrastructures for the development including roads, rainwater drainage, sewerage, water supply, gas pipes, electric supply, public lighting, telecommunications networks, pedestrian access ways and green spaces.
According to the developers, following the first infrastructure phase, the second phase will begin with the construction of all the residences for the new tourist resort, which will be split up and divided into different phases and encompasses the construction of a number of villas of different typologies and architectural styles as well as a Wellness Hotel & Resort, which will feature a wellness clinic and other auxiliary facilities.
Plans also include a 124 unit aparthotel as well as sports and recreational facilities, a riding centre, football fields and various tennis courts.
The development will also have commercial units set within a two-storey building (1,617sqm) which will also feature shops as well as a food court.
