Shoppers at Lidl supermarket in Alcochete, Setúbal, enjoyed an unusual shopping experience on Friday night (November 17) when a 120-kilo pig invaded the premises and calmly wandered around the aisles before being “invited” to leave.
It was around 9pm when GNR police were alerted that a pig had made it into the supermarket.
The animal had been wandering around the supermarket car park before it managed to enter the building.
According to reports, the apparently gentle natured pig seemed unfazed by the shoppers, and despite knocking over some products, did not cause any serious damage to property.
The animal was guided out of the supermarket with the help of a civilian who owns a property with animals nearby. The man kept the pig at his farm until the owner picked it up the next day.
