After the success of last year’s Picnic in the Park, another event has been organised that promises to be even bigger and better than 2003. So set aside Saturday, September 4, to support the Castelo dos Sonhos charity.
This year’s picnic will once again be held in the grounds of the Capela das Artes in Alcantarilha, in the area behind the main building, around the swimming pool. This means that everyone should have a great view of The Good Time Jazz Band and also several other artists who have volunteered to entertain this year.
You are once again invited to bring your own food and drinks, although the restaurant and poolside bar will be open if you don’t have time to prepare anything. Lie on a rug with a sandwich, or bring a table and the family silverware. The idea is to have fun and raise money for this very hardworking charity, which is already assisting this year’s fire victims, along with all the other people they regularly help.
There is no need to book, just come along from 6.30pm onwards. Follow the signs through the village of Alcantarilha to find parking. Tickets cost 10 euros each and five euros for students – for an extra two euros you can use the pool. If you can donate a raffle prize or need further information, please ring 963 518 184.
