Photographer Kärsti Stiege is exhibiting at the Museu Municipal de Tavira until June 25, showing the landscapes, people, cultures and traditions of various places worldwide, and Tavira in particular.
The Swedish-born professional photographer has lived in the Algarve since the 80s. She has worked with internationally well-known magazines and has travelled around the world.
Some countries have had more of an influence on her work and her life, in particular places such as India, Afghanistan and Nepal.
“I have learnt that high standards of living have little to do with happiness,” said Kärsti Stiege.
The Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 5.30pm.
Entry is free for children up to eight years of age, €1 for eight to 18 and 65+, and €2 for the over 18s.
