Maria João Neves will be chairing the second meeting in English of the newly-founded Philosophy Café. To be held on June 3 at the Associação Casa Álvaro de Campos in Tavira at 5.30pm, the topic for the meeting is ‘Can I Help?’.
Maria will discuss whether compassion is innate; when and why helping goes wrong and in what ways can people help others.
The idea is based on the original Greek symposium when people got together to drink wine and to discuss philosophical issues.
The cost of attending the Philosophy Café is €5.
