Petrol prices rise

The price of a barrel of oil has recently reached new high levels – 51.29 US dollars in New York and 47.40 US dollars in London. On hearing the news, Galp immediately increased its petrol prices by 1.5 cêntimos per litre to 1,079 euros for unleaded 95 and 1.139 euros for unleaded 98. BP also increased its prices to 1.078 euros for a litre of gasoline 95, to 1.199 euros for Ultimate 100 and to 0.849 euros for diesel. The petrol companies justified the new prices by referring to increased instability in Central Asia and the expected drop in North American reserves.
