Peter Pan ballet and Christmas concert at Faro’s Teatro das Figuras

A ballet based on the classic tale of Peter Pan (December 19-20) and a Christmas concert by the Orquestra Clássica do Sul (December 23) will be the last two shows of the year at Faro’s Teatro das Figuras.

Brought to life by the Companhia de Dança do Algarve, the Peter Pan ballet will be performed twice, first on Saturday at 9.30pm and then on Sunday at 4.30pm. Carolina Cantinho, Evgeniy Belyaev and Natalia Abramova are in charge of the choreography. Tickets cost €10.

If you don’t already know the story, the ballet will see “Peter taking the (Darling) children for a walk in Neverland”, where they encounter “fairies, mermaids, Indians and pirates led by the devious Captain Hook”.

With the honour of being the year’s closing event at the theatre, a concert by the Orquestra Clássica do Sul will see talented musicians performing a number of classic Christmas tunes such as ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Silent Night’ on Wednesday. Led by maestro Rui Pinheiro, the concert begins at 6.30pm, with tickets costing €10 (25% discount for under 30’s and over 65’s).
