LISBON MUNICIPAL police responsible for animal inspections have caught five potentially dangerous dogs since they started operating in February.

Agents from Brigada Especial de Fiscalização de Animais (BEFA) captured four Pit-bull Terriers and a Rottweiler due to their owners not having the correct paperwork for the animals.

In one month only, the BEFA brigades investigated 187 cases involving animals in Lisbon, captured 10 animals and issued a total of 37 fines.
