A farmer in Taiwan has adopted 12 wild pigs as pets, training them to trot behind his motor scooter and also to stop at traffic lights.
The pigs, all under one year old, fall into line whenever their new owner, Lee Tung-Cheng, lets them out of his rural county yard and starts up his scooter. Lee said that he takes the pigs out almost everyday and that they have learnt the rules of the road.
Lee found the piglets around four months ago and plans to keep them rather than slaughter them.
“They’re very smart and very well behaved,” said Lee. “The older they get, the better behaved they will be.”
