Portimão’s first Pet Adoption Day, on June 30, succeeded in finding new homes for seven rescue dogs.
The event, held at the Parque Visconde de Bívar, gave visitors and potential pet owners the opportunity to interact with dogs looking for new homes as well as browse through the various stalls selling a wide range of products.
Friends of Canil de Portimão (FCP) took a selection of dogs for adoption and photographs of others that were not present on the day but that were also looking for homes.
ADAP, an animal protection association in Portimão, were also there with their own dogs eligible for adoption.
A refreshments stand set up by the FCP raised funds that will be used to support veterinary expenses at the Portimão kennel.
