Pestana Hotel Group will begin reopening its hotels on Friday, June 5, including some of its Pousadas de Portugal (state-owned historic hotels run by the group).
The first hotels to open will be Pestana Viking, Pestana Alvor South Beach and Pestana D. João Villas in the Algarve, as well as Pestana Cascais near Lisbon, while the Pousadas reopening include those in Viana do Castelo, Ria de Aveiro, Alcácer do Sal, Sagres, Valença and Bragança.
Meantime, the Pestana Tróia Eco-Resort has already opened, as well as the group’s golf courses.
Says the group, all units are following strict health authority guidelines and have implemented an internal procedures protocol to “guarantee the best safety and hygiene conditions for guests and workers”.
In fact, the hotel group is even giving families, friends and businesses the option to rent a whole Pousada for themselves, allowing them to “enjoy a castle, a palace, a monastery or a convent in privacy and with more safety”.
And as a special ‘thank you’ for their work during the pandemic, the Pestana Group is offering a 50% discount to health professionals on their bookings at Pousadas until the end of the year.
