The paintings of Dutch artist Meinke Flesseman are currently on display at the Galeria Corte-Real.
Her recent work is a departure from the norm with new themes, painted in her inimitable style, including canvases containing nine individual pictures, picking up personality likenesses between humans and their pets (pictured).
“The subject fascinates me,” says Meinke. “Not so much that they look alike but they have shared character traits and mutual dependence.”
Corte-Real is open from Wednesday to Sunday between 10am and 5pm. From the EN 125 at Fontes de Boliqueime roundabout, the gallery is well signposted.
