The owner of a car with a personalised number plate “XXXXXXX” in the US has received more than 19,000 dollars worth of parking fines intended for unidentified cars.
Tickets for cars without number plates are given parking fines by traffic wardens in Birmingham, Alabama, who enter seven letter X’s onto their forms.
Unfortunately for the motorist, Scottie Roberson, who lives in the nearby town of Huntsville, this means he has received hundreds of incorrect payment notices over the past year.
He chose the personalised plate as a combination of his nickname “Racer X”, and his favourite number, seven.
Scottie says that he has contacted city officials to alert them to the problem, but the notices continue to land on his doorstep.
