The Palmeiras Resort/Tavira’s Martin Garrido put in a great performance during the weekend’s Liberty Seguros cycling Grand Prix to win the second stage by 16 seconds, but it was another Algarve rider, Daniel Silva, who assumed the overall lead he was never to relinquish thereafter.
