After 12 years as the manager for the Parque da Floresta Bowling Club, Janice Clarke will be standing down and handing over the running of the club to experienced bowler George Humphreys and his partner Lynne Riddle.
The combination of bowling experience from George with tourism knowledge from Lynne, who worked previously as a Thomas Cook Travel Shop manager, is hoped to take the club in the western Algarve to new levels, encouraging new experienced and novice bowlers to the club.
The club has been designed to appeal to resident and visiting bowlers and George and Lynne have brought in new bowling club fees, including a 10 Euro fee for non-members wishing to take part in games and free entry for children under the age of 14 when accompanied by an adult.
To promote the social side of the club, a new day snacks and evening menu has been introduced to the club house while as well as weekly competitions, free 30 minute tutorials will also be available for beginners.
