With the PCP election campaign hampered by Covid (click here) , and the need for surgery last week of its figurehead (click here), news today is that 74-year-old Jerónimo de Sousa is coming back to the campaign trail early next week – with any luck by Wednesday. That will still only leave the struggling party with three days of campaigning left before the elections, but all agree ‘Jerónimo is the face’ of the PCP/CDU, and no amount of substitutes can change that in the immediate future.
