A WOMAN in the US is lucky to be alive, after a piece of apple became lodged in her throat and she began to choke.
Despite her best efforts, she could not clear her airways. Suddenly, her golden retriever pushed her over on to her back and began jumping on her chest. The food was soon dislodged and she was able to breathe again. The woman was treated in hospital for injuries sustained during the dog’s version of the Heimlich manoeuvre, but was later released. She said she was lucky the dog knew what to do!
