‘Where is Everybody’ is the name of an art exhibition by Portuguese artist Paulo Guerreiro opening at Vale do Lobo Shopping in collaboration with Aderita Artistic Space Gallery on Friday, February 10 at 5pm.
“My path in painting has always been a self-taught one. I started painting, intermittently, in my early teens and since then my easel and box of materials have accompanied me in my wanderings around the world,” says the artist born in Lisbon in 1977.
“I paint for the challenge, for the pleasure of achieving the final illusion with little more than colour and form, I paint because I want to tell a story contained in a single image.
“I have mainly used the language of realism, with a wink to hyper-realism and the language of industrial design and technical drawing – probably a result of my academic training as a mechanical engineer,” he adds.
The exhibition will remain on display until March 5 and can be visited on Monday from 2pm to 6pm and Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
Admission is free.
