Paulo Águas reelected as University of Algarve rector

Paulo Águas has been reelected as rector of the University of the Algarve (UAlg). His new mandate starts this year and will run until 2025.

Águas received 20 out of 29 votes of the university’s board, while his only opponent – Maria Muniz – received two. Seven board members cast blank votes.

In a statement to the press, Águas said he hopes to “continue contributing to the growth” of the university on a regional, national and international level.
