Pat the Expat’s article

Dear Editor,

In my opinion, Portugal is the best country in the world to retire. Everywhere has a few problems and that’s life. You have to accept the few minor issues to get the major benefits of being here – weather, safety, beautiful beaches, pace of life, cost of living, etc.

While I don’t understand the graffiti (in the US, this is mostly associated with gang activity and is relegated to mostly lower income areas), it is part of being in Europe. Everywhere I have travelled to in Europe has graffiti including near the Vatican and the Louvre. You have to accept it. And I have stepped in a lot less dog poop here than in the US.

People just need to enjoy the paradise that we are lucky enough to live in.
