British citizens considering travelling this summer and requiring a new passport or visa are being advised to apply for their documentation as soon as possible as delays are predicted by the British Embassy in Lisbon.
The British Consulate General in Madrid, where passports are processed, will be moving to a new location between July 15 and 27 and passport and visa issuing service is likely to be delayed because of this.
The new premises will aim to provide customers with a more modern, customer friendly environment with better facilities and an upgraded IT system for improved efficiency.
To avoid any chance of delays, those requiring passports or visas for the summer are therefore urged to apply now.
